THE QUIET BOYS

Camelle

The Quiet Boys are a loose collective of talented musicians from the UK taking in Jazz Funk, Disco, Hip Hop etc to create their own unique fusion of Jazz and Club sounds. The Quiet Boys introduced UK jazz rapper Galliano onto an unsuspecting world with their 1988 collaboration for Acid Jazz records "Let the good times roll".

The debut album "Can't Hold The Vibe" laid the ground for a lot of jazz flavored dance that came after with it's brave fusion of jazz, house, ragga and funk and included the seminal jazz house tune "Modal".

Reviewing the 2nd album BOSH!, Esquire Magazine deemed it "some of the best jazz-funk around. Reminiscent of the Herbie Hancock school of cool, and that's no bad thing."

Featured on Quiet Boys guest vocalist. is premiere UK soulman - Camelle Hinds on recent coca cola advert with Quiet Boys " Everybody loves the Sunshine" & currently scoring success with his own solo album "Vibe Alive" , Keyboard Guru - Neil Cowley who's been mainstay for the Brand New Heavies and been rocking the USA with Down to the Bone.

JANETTE MASON - NEW ALBUM

Janette Mason is currently putting together final mixes of her new studio album " Alien Left Hand" following on from the critical & commercial success of her last album "Din & Tonic". Janette completed her Mmus in composition for film and television at the London College of Music.Originally training in classical piano and flute, Janette has worked with a diverse roster of artists from legendary singer/songwriter Robert Wyatt, jazz artists Claire Martin, Ian Shaw and Annie Whitehead to pop acts Oasis, Pulp, Seal and Suzanne Vega.

Janette is a versatile composer with an ability to combine the latest technology with her natural flair for orchestration to create a diverse array of atmospheres and moods. Her adaptable, thoughtful approach enable her to respond imaginatively to a variety of commissions; from documentary film Paris was a Woman, the Documentary Series The Debt Machine (Channel 4), to The Great Reality TV Swindle (Channel 4).

Drawing upon her eclectic influences in jazz, pop, classical and Latin American music, Janette forges her own original style that journeys from intimacy to dynamic attack, intricacy to expansive fluidity. She combines acoustic and orchestral instruments, interlaced with modern beats and loops to create a unique sound. Her versatility and articulate musical inventiveness produces compositions that encompass passion, intrigue, power and surprise. While fuelled by a sense of adventure, humour and love of all things kitsch Janette’s compositions have also turned up on the Drew Carey Show (USA BMI Television and Cable), Sex in the City, along with advertisements for The Royal Bank of Scotland and Vanish Carpet Cleaner.

Originally training in classical piano and flute, Janette turned professional at nineteen and cut her teeth in theatre and TV, most memorably as keyboard player / MD for Jonathan Ross’ Saturday Zoo. An ‘inspired and inspiring’ keyboard player and improviser, Janette worked with a diversity of artists from legendary singer/songwriter Robert Wyatt, jazz artists Claire Martin, Ian Shaw, Deirdre Cartwight, Annie Whitehead to top pop acts Oasis, Pulp, Suzanne Vega and Seal.

ABOUT.......... 2.0 MUSIC – music / publishing / licensing

MIKE SEFTON

With almost 30 years experience in the music industry, Mike rose from DJ’ing to record retailing before being voted “Club Promotions Manager of the year”, 3 years running whilst working for Phonogram / London Records, influencing the careers of acts such as Cameo, RUN DMC and Shannon. Moving onto A&R at A&M Records, Mike worked with acts such as Janet Jackson, Barry White, Crystal Waters, Robert Clivilles & David Cole, Al Green and Arthur Baker.

Following the sale of A&M to Polygram, Mike moved into Music Publishing where he worked as Senior Creative Manager and then Head of A&R for BMG Music Publishing, later heading up DeConstruction Songs, Ministry Of Sound Music Publishing and V2 Music, signing and working with writers and acts such as X-Press 2, Rollo (Faithless / Dido), Mike Pickering (M People), The Grid, Death In Vegas, Steve Anderson (Kylie Minogue), Steve Robson (Take That, James Morrison), Shep Solomon (Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson) and Metrophonic Music (Brian Rawling, Paul Barry & Mark Taylor).

Mike’s extensive experience in his Creative and A&R roles both for records and publishing put him in a great position to help artists, writers, bands and catalogue owners fulfill their potential and go on to achieve everything they set out to do. In particular Mike's background in DJ culture and Dance A+R , Promotion and Retail, commissioning remixes and crossing club hits to the very top of the pop charts, combined with his experience in working and developing mainstream hit singles and commissioning music for media, is a rare blend in an industry increasing split into categories and sub genres.
